ABOUT US

howyouhelp

Sharing the love of Christ with those in need, providing emergency relief and equipping families with the tools necessary to create lasting change.

OUR MISSION

We firmly believe that to carry out the great commission (Matt. 28:16-20) we must fulfill the great commandment (Matt. 22:36-40). Loving our neighbor as our self requires that we look out for the good of our fellow man; spiritually, physically, emotionally and materially and this is the philosophy that drives our ministry strategy.

UpstateHope  provides places of hope throughout the upstate of South Carolina. Through our internal programs and various partnerships these centers will provide hope and empowerment for families and individuals in need. These places of hope will combine the efforts UpstateHope and partner organizations to provide programs the strengthen families and individuals for Christ and the betterment of the community.

Our first focus is on addressing immediate needs with emergency assistance. Initial services include a central site for case management, emergency food assistance, children’s clothing, weekly meals and light household items.

The next, and perhaps more important step, is to enable individuals and families to improve their situation for good. Beyond just providing for physical needs, we offer financial literacy and basic budgeting classes, biblical counseling, computer education and job counseling as well as assistance with resumes, job search and interviewing skills.

Our vision is to provide a place of hope for families and individuals in need.

Our mission is to share the love of Christ, without discrimination, to those in need by first providing emergency relief and then, through education and rehabilitation, equipping them with the tools necessary to create lasting change in their lives.

Our purpose is to offer God’s hope and a loving community through a partnership of ministry services and an inviting, worshiping community to families and individuals who are hurting from poverty and injustice.

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

– Matthew 25:40

WHAT’S IN A NAME?

Since 2005 God’s Pantry has been one of the largest providers of Emergency Food Assistance in the upstate of SC. And while food assistance will continue to be the cornerstone of what we do, our expanding mission is directed at brining hope to those in the upstate through additional programs and assistance.

Therefore we are introducing UpstateHope, A mission Outreach of God’s Pantry of SC, Inc. We believe this new branding focuses a renewed energy around our ministry and what we do.
